Job Description:

IRC has been working in Pakistan for over 30 years, and manages and delivers large, complex programs to meet the needs in health, education, protection, environmental health and livelihoods for displaced, poor and disaster affected communities. IRC works in partnership with local government and non-governmental organizations and currently works in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh provinces.

Job Overview/Summary: Provide assistance and support in the rollout and use of IRC’s Program Framework, Theories of Change and Strategic Action Implementation Plan and Exemplar work plan. The Program Intern’s primary responsibility will be to provide high quality, core administrative support to the LNGB Project.

Major Responsibilities:

1.       Strategic Planning & Implementation

·         In coordination with the Program officer, pro-actively assist in design and implement fundraising strategies, incorporating donor mapping and communication plans, to ensure program sectors are adequately financed.

·         Provide support to monitor and review programming to ensure that schedules are met

·         Assure LNGB team’s priorities and plans adopt IRC’s new practices & ways of working through Exempla

2.       Program Development

·         Support LNGB team in achievement of IRC Pakistan’s SAP outcome priorities and programmatic commitments.

·         Support the program officer in the development of a Partnership Strategy, development of required strategy implementation tools and identification of potential national civil society organization partners.

·         Ensure the provision of appropriate technical assistance from IRC’s Technical Units, external consultants or partner agencies as necessary.

3.       Liaison/Representation and Coordination

·         Encourage and support improved program cohesion through coordination initiatives and information sharing with and between all key country program staff.

·         Promote the IRC Pakistan LNGB vision and mission amongst all staff.

Job Requirements:

a)      Education:

Master’s degree in International Development, International Relations, relevant social sciences or equivalent demonstrable experience in relevant fields.

b)      Work Experience:

·         Entry Level

c)       Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

·         Effective communication and presentation skills.

·         Demonstrated ability to think strategically, prioritize and meet deadlines in a complex and challenging environment; must be culturally sensitive

·         Computer skills including MS- Office, Excel, Power Point, Outlook

·         Remain flexible and perform other duties, as needed or requested

Language Skills – English, Urdu

Others:  

·     Strong computer skills: must be competent in the use of Windows, MS office programs, email programs, etc.
