Job Description:

The Import- Export (IMPEX) Officer is responsible for ensuring that all the imported , exported and in -transit goods are moved according to sound practices. The IMPEX Officer mainly interacts with Logistics Division staff worldwide. Furthermore the staff will be responsible to develops and maintain a network with import - export contacts, national and regional authorities who issues permits and  authorizations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Obtains exemptions from national and regional authorities for goods that the ICRC imports.
  • Receives and expediates freight out of the country or region of assignment in collaboration with external commercial partners.
  • Is responsible for following up on, filling archiving import - export documents.
  • Verifies invoices ( from customs, freight -forwarders etc.) and submits them to supervisors.
  • Reports problems and irregularities in import- export activities, also ensures that latest custom regulations are communicated and applied.

Main Requirements:

  • Relevant University Degree preferably in procurement and/or Supply Chain Management, Law, Commerce, Business Administration, or related areas.
  • Minimum 03 of relevant working experience.
  • Certification in clearing,forwarding & IATA dangerous goods will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of Customs and import- export procedures.
  • Computer skills ( MS.OFFICE)
  • Fluent written and spoken command of the local working language as well as English and Urdu.
